About Fujian

Situated at China’s southeast coast, Fujian Province lies west of Taiwan Province. Separated only by a strip of water, Fujian and Taiwan are regarded as sister province as their people are joined by ties of blood and similar dialects. The province covers an area of over 139,000 square kilometers and has a population of 34.71 million (2006) of Han, She, Hui, Miao, Manchu and Gaoshan nationalities. The province capital is Fuzhou.

Fujian has a mild and humid climate. Its mean temperature in the coldest month of January is 5°C (41°F) in the northwest and 12°C (53.6°F) in the southeast. In the hottest month of July, it has an average temperature of 25°C.-30°C (77°F - 86°F). Fujian has abundant rainfall with an average annual precipitation of 800-1,900 mm, Summer and autumn is the typhoon season, which usually brings with it torrential rain.

Education

Currently, Fujian province has 23,100 schools at all levels, students 843.51 million. Among them, the various types of schools at all levels are 11,117. Full-time students at schools are 594.4 million; Kindergartens are 7508, with 99.27 million pre-schoolers; various types of adult education schools (including vocational and technical training institutions) are 4511, with 149.84 million students. The province's various schools faculty 49.15 million, including 40.81 million full-time teachers; day school faculty 42.61 million, including 36.83 million full-time teachers; other school staff 6.54 million, including 3.98 million full-time teachers .

Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University

Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) is a leading higher education institution in Fujian Province, jointly supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Forestry Administration and the Fujian Provincial Government in China. Rated “Grade A” on the Undergraduate Teaching Evaluation by the State Ministry of Education,FAFU is one of the first-batch universities to grant master degrees and one of second-batch universities to confer doctoral degrees in China. It is also one of the higher education institutions with Chinese Government Scholarship Programs to sponsor international students. The school has witnessed its 76 years' development. With a total area of over 320 hectares,the University has four campuses with the main campus located in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian Province, and the other three in Fuzhou College Station, Nanpin City and Anxi County.Besides, there are also two independent colleges, Jinshan College and Dongfang College, affiliated to FAFU, with a total enrollment of 18,000 students.

The government of Fujian Province has established the fujian Government Scholarship for International Students (hereinafter referred to as FGS) in accordance with the Guidance for the Medium and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development in Fujian Province (2010-2020),in effort to further promote the development and make progress on scale, level and service ability of the international students’ education of Fujian Province, and attract more academically excellent international students to study in Fujian.

A.Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.
B.Education background and age limit
a. Applicants for Governor Special Scholarship Program must recommend by our Provincial partnership cities and be under the age of 50.
b. Applicants for International Liaison of Provincial partnership cities study in Fujian program must recommend by our Provincial partnership cities and be under the age of 50. .
c. Applicants for International Liaison of Provincial partnership cities trainees program and be under the age of 50.
d. Applicants for Independent recruitment program by Fujian universities includes:
-Applicants for undergraduate program or long term language must have senior high school diploma and be under the age of 30.
-Applicants for master’s degree programs must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
-Applicants for general scholar program must have bachelor’s degree or completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and be under the age of 50.
-Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

Which is the biggest city in Fujian?

Xiamen, has a nice ambiance that is conducive for learning and student life. Universities and schools have good student facilities and classrooms.
